VCRC Namibia

VCRC Health and Research Institute is Namibia’s leading organisation for reproductive justice and health research. Since our founding in 2020, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that every person in Namibia has access to safe, equitable, and dignified reproductive healthcare.

Our journey began with a nationwide petition calling for abortion law reform, which received over 60,000 signatures. This powerful demonstration of public support inspired the creation of VCRC, a movement that bridges advocacy, research, and healthcare to drive systemic change.

Our Mission

To advance reproductive justice in Namibia by:

  • Influencing policies and decision-making at all levels of government.
  • Empowering citizens, especially womxn, youth, and marginalised communities, to advocate for their rights.
  • Conducting research to generate evidence-based solutions for reproductive health challenges.
  • Providing mobile healthcare services to communities that need it most.

A Namibia where reproductive rights are recognised as fundamental human rights and where all individuals can access healthcare that is safe, inclusive, and equitable. We envision a future where communities are informed, empowered, and able to participate fully in shaping policies that affect their health and well-being.

  • Justice: We fight for equality, human rights, and the protection of reproductive freedoms.
  • Equity: We focus on reducing barriers and reaching marginalised communities.
  • Collaboration: We work hand in hand with NGOs, grassroots movements, policymakers, and citizens to amplify our impact.
  • Integrity: Our work is grounded in evidence, transparency, and ethical practice.
  • Compassion: We approach our services and advocacy with empathy and respect for the communities we serve.

Who We Serve

Policymakers & political leaders

Guiding platforms and legislation toward reproductive justice priorities.

Equipping communities with knowledge and tools to advocate for change.

NGOs and grassroots movements

Strengthening networks and collective action around gender equality, women’s rights, and social justice.

Our Approach

VCRC combines research, advocacy, and direct service delivery to create holistic solutions:

Research

Conducting studies on reproductive health issues, barriers, and community needs.

Using evidence and community voices to influence policy and public opinion.

Operating a mobile clinic that delivers reproductive health services to underserved communities.

Workshops, campaigns, and educational initiatives to empower citizens.

We believe that reproductive justice is a human right, not a privilege. Every person deserves access to healthcare, knowledge, and the power to advocate for their rights. Together, we can build a Namibia where justice, equity, and dignity are available to all.
